Reflecting on 2025 As 2025 concludes, we extend our thanks to our sponsors, partners, and friends who supported Spotlight 2025. Held from 23 to 25 June, the summit focused on the theme "Flood-Resilient Cities: Adapting to Climate Change," addressing the growing threat of storms and floods to cities. Industry leaders shared strategies for flood resilience, showcasing how collaboration drives innovation toward climate resilience. In this edition of our newsletter, we’re excited to share the highlights of 2025 and offer a preview of what’s ahead in 2026. Let’s take a moment to reflect on this year's milestones. Season’s Greetings and a fantastic New Year to all! |

First introduced at SIWW2024, the focus on coastal and flood resilience continued at Spotlight 2025 with the theme “Flood-Resilient Cities: Adapting to Climate Change.” The event featured key programmes, including a flagship cities roundtable where cities shared insights on building flood resilience, two high-level panels on strategies and solutions for climate adaptation, and an in-focus forum with six case studies and innovative industry solutions that supported cities in building resilience against floods and extreme weather. Side events included the World Bank’s flood risk session, C40 Cities’ workshop, ADB’s flood management training, and the Singapore Water Association’s inaugural Southeast Asia Symposium on Coastal Protection. #4 Successfully Hosted the 41st World Congress of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR2025)
Nearly 1,400 delegates attended the 41st World Congress of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research, which took place from 22 to 27 June 2025, with 152 technical sessions and over 1,100 presentations. The Solutions Marketplace, a joint exhibition for both IAHR2025 and Spotlight 2025, covered 2,000 sqm with 41 exhibitors and attracted 1,056 trade visitors. Between IAHR2025 and Spotlight 2025, close to 160 sessions covering topics that include flood resilience, coastal protection, digitalisation and systems engineering were organised. #5 Expanded and Targeted Focus on Industrial Water Solutions for the Region
Over 250 industrial water end-users gathered in Kuala Lumpur on 13 October 2025 for the “Innovative and Sustainable Industrial Water Solutions for Emerging Industries in Malaysia” forum. Hosted by PUB Consultants, Enterprise Singapore, and Air Selangor, with support from Malaysia and Singapore's water associations, the event connected industrial water users with innovators to tackle water optimisation, environmental, and regulatory challenges, as a lead-up to SIWW2026. |
